The Lab
The Tou Lab is housed in WVU's new Agricultural Sciences building. Our lab utilizes a wide range of techniques to conduct our research including RNA Seq, mass spectrometry, RT-qPCR, gas chromatography, various assays, clinical measurements, and more. We also use various rodent models to study nutrition, disease, and safety.
Dr. Tou's broad research interests and fields of expertise have positioned her to
collaborate with several investigators at WVU, across North America, and internationally. Collaboration at WVU includes researchers in Animal Science, Plant and Soil Sciences, Biochemistry, Reproductive Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Forestry, and more.
The Tou Lab also has an excellent record of incorporating undergraduate students into our lab, with several students each year completing undergraduate theses under Dr. Tou and her doctoral students' direction. Undergraduate students have gone on to win university and national awards, participate in Posters on the Hill, gain authorship on publications, and successful admission to various graduate programs in the medical and health sciences.
